Time On Form Demo
I created a demo named "
Time On Form
" partially in response to this question:
How can I use javascript to get current date/time to use as a variable in a formula
https://community.quickbase.com/quickbase/topics/how-can-i-use-javascript-to-get-current-date-time-t...">https://community.quickbase.com/quickbase/topics/how-can-i-use-javascript-to-get-current-date-time-to-use-as-a-variable-in-a-formula">https://community.quickbase.com/quickbase/topics/how-can-i-use-javascript-to-get-current-date-time-t...
The demo addresses
four
different use cases that might occur all of which can be implemented with script. I think you can figure out what is accomplished in each of the four cases without a lot of description from be although there are subtle differences between each use case.
The demo has three fields
[Name]
representing the
collective
set of data entry fields,
[Time On Form]
representing the time the new record field is open, and
[Forced Save?]
indicating if the form was
automatically
saved after a
10 seconds timeou
t. For demo purposes I am
displaying
all of these fields but
preventing
direct editing of
[Time On Form]
and
[Forced Save?]
as these fields are set by script
not
human input.
